One of Montara's founders knows this not as an idea, but as something she lived through.
A Long and Uncertain Road
For years, she and her partner were trying to conceive. Every test came back normal. Doctors reassured them nothing was wrong. And yet, month after month, nothing changed.
They turned to IVF, holding onto hope. One cycle. Then another. Then a third. The outcome remained the same — confusing, frustrating, and emotionally exhausting.
How could everything look fine, and still not work?
Looking at the Everyday
At one point, her doctors decided to take a step back. Not to run more tests, but to look at something simpler — her everyday life.
They asked her to write down everything she used daily. Skincare. Haircare. Body care. Things we rarely question, because we assume they're safe.
That's when something unexpected came up.
A body wash. A well-known international brand. Loved for its strong, long-lasting fragrance. That lasting scent, it turned out, comes at a cost — synthetic fragrances contain chemicals called phthalates, known to disrupt the body's hormonal system, including estrogen and progesterone. Quietly. Daily. Through skin.
One Small Change
Her doctors suggested she pause using it. Not as a certainty — but as a possibility worth exploring.
She made the switch to a simpler, natural alternative. Nothing dramatic. Just one small, intentional change.
Within a couple of months, something shifted.
She conceived naturally.
